Biography Instructions

Writing your bio shouldn’t be a daunting task.

It shouldn’t drive you to tears!

Or frighten you!

Remember that a Biography is not a resume’, Memoir or a practice Obituary but it will include some of the same information. You may want to write sections of it over a few days or you may be able to do it all in one sitting! There is no right or wrong way to write it; and it can also be updated in future website updates if desired.

We have provided Step by Step instructions of how to write and submit your Biography that should help make the process easier. We have also included a simple format that breaks out key information from the narrative used in the Highlights of My Life Since High School section.  That should make it much easier to think through and complete.

So…let’s get started!

STEPS:

1)  Copy the Biography sections listed below to a new email addressed to: info@bghsclassof1972.com

FAMILY:

OCCUPATION:

FAVORITE HIGH SCHOOL MEMORIES:

HOW I LIKE TO SPEND MY TIME:

FUN TIDBIT(S) ABOUT ME:

HIGHTLIGHTS OF MY LIFE SINCE HIGH SCHOOL:

2)  Begin completing your information for all of the Biography sections directly in the body of the email.  You may want to review the Biography Tips for ideas if you get stumped.  In addition, you can review a completed biography as an example.

3)  Once you are satisfied with your Biography, please include a recent photo of yourself as a separate attachment in your email.  You can also include any other photos that illustrate any of your interesting Biography details as well.

We ask that photos be a minimum size of 550 pixels wide and 400 pixels tall (or any ratio larger than that). If that doesn't make any sense to you, just send us a full-sized picture and we'll do our best to make it fit.

NOTE:  If you can’t or don't want to include a current photo, only your Senior Class picture from the 1972 Archive will appear with your completed Biography.

4)  SEND the email of your completed biography and photos to: info@bghsclassof1972.com

NOTE:  We understand that biographies can contain semi-confidential information. All biography pages will be blocked from search engines indexing them. This means that while anyone who comes to the site will be able to read your bio, it won't show up when someone does a simple name search in Google.

If you have any concerns that you might be using sensitive or personal information that you don’t want seen by non-classmates, DO NOT INCLUDE IT IN YOUR BIO!
