Catherine Dukes Lucchesi
FAMILY: Married to second husband Ray Lucchesi for 37 years. I have two sons: Chad - the father to my only grandchild Ripley age 4; and Cai age 21 and still attending college. We live in Healdsburg, California but still have family in Las Vegas and maintain a home in Henderson.
OCCUPATION: I have my BS and MA from UNLV. Between 1976 to 1984 I worked for the State of Nevada in various departments including Vocational Rehabilitation, Bureau of Services to the Blind and ultimately Special Children’s Clinic.
Currently employed as a “Sky Goddess” aka Flight Attendant with United Airlines since 1984. Plan to “Fly the Friendly Skies” until my walker wont fit down an airplane aisle.
With my flexible work schedule at United I was able to obtain my real estate agent and then brokers license and practiced commercial real estate until we moved full time to California in 2010.
FAVORITE HIGH SCHOOL MEMORIES: Favorite Teacher: Frank Lendini. Favorite Memories: Band, Precisionaires, “Oklahoma!”
HOW I LIKE TO SPEND MY TIME: My number one pleasure is travel and since my oldest son and family live in the Philadelphia area we travel to visit them multiple times a year.
I have been to at least one city or airport in most of the 50 states; every continent except Africa and Antarctica (bucket list destinations) and travel internationally several times each month.
I also enjoy cooking and gardening and spend hours wandering through farmers markets, food stands and grocery stores during my layovers.
In 1998 we purchased 60 acres in the Sonoma County Alexander Valley area in Northern California and developed a hobby vineyard growing Zinfandel and Petite Syrah grapes until we sold in 2018. We are just finishing up the last few cases of our 2017 vintage.
I also belong to two book clubs and a monthly poker group (for fun only).
FUN TIDBIT(S) ABOUT ME: I was honored to receive the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Community Achievement Award in Business in 2000. I was a member of the Leadership Las Vegas class of 1999.
HIGHLIGHTS OF MY LIFE SINCE HIGH SCHOOL: There are so many, all involving family and/or travel. We have been able to take our sons all over the world so travel has been a big part of our life.
