Linda Novak Giannosa
FAMILY: Husband, Frank, and I met at Drake University in Des Moines, IA in 1974 and were married in 1976 in Chicago. We lived in Chicago for about 3 years before coming back to Las Vegas so Frank could learn the casino business with my father.
We raised our 3 children, Jenna, Angelo, and Lia, in a home on the same street I grew up on and were fortunate that my parents and sister, Judy, and her children lived down the same street. After our 3 graduated high school Frank & I moved to the Denver, Colorado area and have been here since 2006.
Daughter Lia & her husband, John, live nearby as does daughter Jenna, husband Spiros, and their twin 7 yr-old sons. We were fortunate that Jenna and her family lived several years with us after the boys were born and we managed the pandemic lockdown while together. We were never bored…
OCCUPATION: I’ve discovered I’m a serial entrepreneur, delighting in big new projects for which I research, learn best practices, and proceed to develop.
My degree in Elementary Education led me to teach middle school reading for the Clark County School District and Faith Lutheran Jr/Sr High. My children attended the latter at the same time I taught. It seems that teaching is my gift and I’ve brought that aptitude to nearly everything I’ve accomplished.
I’ve started/owned several businesses – home design and renovation, energy efficient product sales, travel magazine publishing, discount dining program, and am currently working as a residential Realtor. I teach real estate classes to fellow professionals and the general public and have tagged myself ‘The Baby Boomers’ Realtor’. I present the classes in person or streaming online; most popular is ‘Smartsizing is the New Downsizing’.
I’ve just embarked on a new adventure developing a coaching program for those interested in real estate careers but are unsure of the requirements or where to start their journey. It’ll all be online and I’ve immersed myself in an intensive program learning about social media marketing. I intend to develop online courses and, I hope, write a book.
HOW I LIKE TO SPEND MY TIME: My foci of reading, research, and lifelong education are probably my hobbies and I have to say that helping and advocating for folks buying and selling homes is such fun.
Frank & I have enjoyed traveling, particularly with the children. We’ve been fortunate to see a bit of the world as they were growing up. Son Angelo (Air Force) has been based in interesting international locations and we have visited him when possible.
Las Vegas’ dining opportunities spoiled us and we seek out interesting spots to eat wherever we find ourselves.
Grandma-ing is more fulfilling that I expected. Our twin grandsons, Alki (Alkiviadis) and Theo (Theodoros), have developed into fascinating young humans.
FUN TIDBIT(S) ABOUT ME:
We lived on the 46th floor of an apartment building on Lake Michigan, just north of downtown Chicago. It was one of my favorite homes, looking down on the storms coming in off the Lake and watching the water in the toilet swish back & forth when the wind buffeted the building.
I’ve been in love with Frank since we met. Never stopped.
I began my studies in Gemology with the goal to teach Fine Jewels classes on cruise ships while Frank & I had a bunch of fun. This venture never came to fruition, but I sure do love gems and jewelry.
I delight in growing older, have become a wise old crone and celebrate the peace and understanding of my role in the world.
