Toni Travers Goz

FAMILY: I married Harold Goz at age 29, had a daughter named Lauren, and sadly, Harold and I were divorced 8 years later...............only to marry again after 23 years. The second time around is really great.

My parents and my only sister, Lynn are all gone, so my family is very small. We have adapted and it's all good.

OCCUPATION: I have had a wonderful (38-year) career in the beauty business and now I'm semi-retired and work 3 days per week.

FAVORITE HIGH SCHOOL MEMORIES: I have some great memories from my time at BGHS. Thinking back, I was really into school once they opened an art department. I loved Mrs. Kelly, our art teacher.

HOW I LIKE TO SPEND MY TIME: Harold and I love to travel and as long as we have travel plans, all is well with the world.

FUN TIDBIT(S) ABOUT ME: There was the time I met Ruth Buzzi while skiing at Lee Canyon. She was performing at the International Hotel showroom. She was very funny and on the popular show "Laugh-In." So, I asked her if she could come to my high school to do a small bit to which she said yes. That night, my mom just picked up the phone and called the hotel like she knew her and was able to set it all up. And that is how Ms. Buzzi wound up entertaining us at a pep assembly.!! Then there was my awkward attempt at acting during pep assemblies. Let's just not go there. It was terrible!

HIGHTLIGHTS OF MY LIFE SINCE HIGH SCHOOL: Well, let me see if I have any memories from 50 years ago..............a lot of it is a blur, but I'll do my best!

After graduation, I went to UNLV for one year until I was asked to leave because of a low GPA. They obviously did not know that I had other skills like socializing in the student union and being a little sister in Sigma Chi Fraternity. Their loss I suppose.

After I turned 21, I began working in the Rathskeller at The Alpine village Inn, which at the time was more my speed. It was a fun job and I worked with great people and was able to ski just about any time that I wanted, so for me, life was good. I stayed there until I graduated from Cosmetology school at the age of 30. During my Alpine time, I was able to purchase my own home. Imagine that on a waitress's tips and at the age of 24!

I pride myself in never being arrested since clearly, I had plenty of opportunities to get into trouble. Lucky, I guess, and let's hope it stays that way!

Hopefully, I'll see you at the 60th reunion!
